I was taking a break from my Japanese’ final presentation project the other day, while looking out at the stunning view from my windows, this question came pondered in my mind.

I think I have reached a point where I don’t know where I’m going at with my life. Sort of like quarter-life crisis but one year too late?

I have a decent job, I’m able to support myself without anyone’s help and I will be getting my own place soon (hopefully). I have a family, lots of friends and a relationship.

So, seems like i have everything in order, how is that I’m still not satisfied?

I feel like there’s something missing, there’s something I should be doing instead of living a life like this. Maybe my destiny is calling me, maybe I should actually be helping ppl with my life.

It is then I realized, a normal life is not what I need. I crave for something bigger, much bigger than myself, although I dont know what it is just yet. Hopefully I’ll have the answer to that in the near future.

After living 1 month and a half on my own, I think I really enjoy the freedom of being away from the family. I make my own meals, do my own laundry, clean my own washroom, etc.

Some people say its lonely to live by oneself, however, I actually enjoyed it. I love being alone, so I can think clearly and do my own stuff. I’m a person who needs alot of personal space and freedom, probably due to my horoscope…hahaha…

So I’m getting more and more serious in finding my own place (no roommates) after my rent is over. Especially in today’s market, owning a house suddenly doesn’t seem so far away. I just hope I can find the perfect place before next year.

Looking forward to that day…

Last night, my friends and I participated in Toronto’s Earth Hour by playing Mah Jong in candlelit.  Looked out the windows, only The Bay actually turned off their lights, all the other stores had their lights on even after business hours. I was hoping more offices would participate in the event, but from the news this morning, seems like we did okay already, lol.

At 9:30 p.m., the conclusion of the second global Earth Hour, the meter at Toronto Hydro’s control centre that measures city-wide electricity demand hit 2,545 megawatts – 15 per cent below typical demand at that time and 7 per cent below the lowest demand during Earth Hour in 2008. —The Star
